Where is global warming taking us

Ok there is a little homework for this one. Two movies to be seen--" Inconvenient Truths" by Al Gore and " The Great Global Warming Swindle".

These present two contrasting views of the same issue, GLOBAL WARMING, trying two explain the phenomenon and the expected patterns of the world climate in the near future.

I cant say who is pushing which agenda, but what we can say for sure is that "global warming fear" is pushing the sustainability agenda. Reminds me of what a teacher had said when a certain tragedy struck our department " It takes a tragedy(in this case fear) for people to come together to take action". Sustainability is all about good common sense, higher efficiency and human health. If global warming is the way to it, so be it. It would be wonderful if we knew the true picture. Reward or fear should not be the drivers to self preservation!!

It is mostly the west that leads the race of depleting the ozone layer. Thankfully, it is again the west itself that recognizes the threats first.
What is unfortunate is, that theie is a gap between the two entities- those who participate in depletion; and those who recognize that the depletiomn us a big threat.
To complicate the situation further, the government body, which has the potential to bridge the gap has dependency on the former!
Well, Thankfully, most of the west (...perhaps all of it???) is democratic. Lets hope thye second group becomes powerful as early as possible. May god save us!

BTW, the prof reference you discussed reminds me of bad things! Didnot like it...

Nature has always adjusted its temprature in d history.. humanity or more precisely d living creatures were not responsible for that but this time it is unique as human beings r responsible 4 this rise of average temprature in d envt.(IPCC Report-2007) which is threatning d life of this planet iself... Being a global threat it requires a collective effort... Only technological approach (Emission reduction) to tackle it has got consensus on international level rest issues r pending due 2 complexity of political processes..
